Here’s a look at the unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well yesterday.

Houston at Cincinnati
Travis Wood gave up two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in six innings. Aneury Rodriguez gave up one hit in five scoreless innings. Neither starter factored into the decision.

Minnesota at Chicago White Sox
Denard Span went two for three with two runs to raise his average to .293. Jason Kubel went one for three with two RBI. He’s hitting .350 with 13 RBI. Alex Rios continued to turn things around going three for four with a home run. Nick Blackburn gave up one run on four hits in 6-2/3 innings to pick up the win. John Danks, yesterday’s streaming pitcher option, gave up three runs in eight innings, but took the loss.

Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers
Darwin Barney went two for four with a run to raise his average to .324. Marlon Byrd went one for three with a home run and three RBI to raise his average to .295. Carlos Pena hit a home run for the second straight day. Aaron Miles and James Loney each went two for four. Carlos Zambrano gave up one run on five hits in eight innnings to improve to 4-1 with a 4.23 ERA.

Toronto at Tampa Bay
Adam Lind went four for four with a home run and two RBI. Johnny Damon went two for four. Brandon Morrow gave up one run on five hits with seven strikeouts in 6-1/3 innings to improve to 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA.

New York Yankees at Detroit
Brennan  Boesch went two for four with a run. Magglio Ordonez went two for three with a home run and two RBI. Alex Avila went two for four with a stolen base to improve his average to .307. Max Scherzer gave up four hits with nine strikeouts in eight scoreless innings to improve to 5-0 with a 3.15 ERA.

Washington at Philadelphia
Raul Ibanez went three for four with two runs and a homer. Brian Schneider went two for four with a run. Wilson Valdez went one for four wtih two runs. Danny Espinosa went one for four with a home run and three RBI (18). Alex Cora went three for four. Vance Worley gave up one run on four hits with seven striketouts in six innings to improve to 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA.

Pittsburgh at San Diego
Matt Diaz went two for five with a run. Ryan Doumit went two for three with a grand slam. Chase Headley went two for four. Brad Hawpe went two for three with a home run and two RBI. Kevin Correia gave up two runs on five hits in six innings to improve to 5-2 with a 2.91 ERA.

San Francisco at New York Mets
Aubrey Huff went three for four. Ronny Paulino went two for four. Chris Capuano gave up two runs with five strikeouts in 6-1/3 innings, but took the loss. Tim Lincecum threw an absolute gem.

Martin Prado went three for five with two runs and three RBI (16). Chipper Jones went one for five with two RBI (23). Nate McLouth went two for three with two runs.

Alex Gonzalez went two for five with two runs. Freddie Freeman went one for five with two RBI. David Ross went two for five with a run to raise his average to .333. Eric Hinkse went one for three with a run and two RBI. Nate McLouth went two for two with two runs, a home run, and two RBI. Tim Hudson fired a one-hit shutout.

Luke Scott went two for three. Mark Reynolds went three for three with a run. Mike Aviles went two for four. Jake Arrieta gave up one run on three hits with eight strikeouts to improve to 4-1 with a 4.35 ERA.

Chone Figgins went two for four with two runs and two stolen bases. Milton Bradley also went two for four. C.J. Wilson gave up one earned run on six hits with 12 strikeouts in a complete game victory to improve to 4-1 with a 2.92 ERA.
