Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts – 6/25/10

Jun 26, 2010

Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

Drew Stubbs, Cincinnati Reds
Stubbs’ average (.236) is brutal, but he contributes everywhere else. Yesterday he went 2 for 4 with 2 runs (38), a HR (8) and 2 RBIs (35). He even stole his 16th base.

Edwin Jackson, Arizona Diamondbacks (pictured)
Jackson threw a no-hitter racking up 6 Ks. His control was more than suspect as he issued 8 walks, but a no-hitter is a no-hitter. It’s the 4th no-no (5th if you count Armando Galaragga’s perfect game*). He’s 5-6 with a 4.63 ERA.

Kris Medlen, Atlanta Braves
Medlen gave up 1 run in 6-2/3 IP with 5 Ks to improve to 5-1 with a 3.15 ERA.

Corey Patterson, Baltimore Orioles
Patterson went 3 for 4 with a run, and RBI, and 2 SBs (12). He’s now hitting .268.

Jonathan Herrera, Colorado Rockies
Herrera went 3 for 6 with a run and an RBI. He’s hitting .314.

Coco Crisp, Oakland A’s
Crisp went 3 for 5 with 3 runs. He’s hitting .368 and has a firm grip on the leadoff spot.

Cliff Pennington
Pennington went 3 for 4 with a run and 3 RBIs. He’s hitting .248 with 23 RBIs.

Vincente Padilla, Los Angeles Dodgers
Padilla took the loss despite giving up 2 runs in 7 innings with 7 Ks.
