Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

Edwin Encarnacion, Toronto Blue Jays
Encarnacion went 3 for 4 with 2 runs and his 10th HR. He’s hitting just .212 so you probably want to find your power elsewhere.

Jerry Hairston, Jr., San Diego Padres
Jerry went 3 for 5 to raise his average to .246. His main benefit is his positional flexibility.

Joaquin Arias, Texas Rangers
Arias went 2 for 4 with a run and 4 RBIs (8) filling in for Elvis Andrus at SS. He doesn’t get enough steady ABs to make him a viable fantasy opti0n.

Wandy Rodriguez, Houston Astros
Wandy, yesterday’s streaming option, gave up 1 run on 4 hits with 10 Ks in 7 innings to pick up the win. He improved to 6-10 with a 5.00 ERA.

Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants (pictured)
Bumgarner picked up his first career win throwing 8 scoreless innings while allowing 3 hits and striking out 5. He lowered his ERA to 2.86 in 22 innings.

Felix Lopez, St. Louis Cardinals
Lopez went 3 for 5 with a HR (5) and 3 RBIs (21) to raise his average to .275. He’s raised his average 33 points since June 27th.

Wilson Betemit, Kansas City Royals
Betemit went 3 for 4 with a HR (4) and 3 RBIs (10) to raise his average to .386. He’s a career .261  hitter so I would hold off on making a bid for him.

Mike Stanton, Florida Marlins
Stanton went 2 for 4 with a HR (3) and 3 RBIs (16). The potential is there, but he’s hitting just .222.

Potent Middle Relievers
Logan Ondrusek, CIN: 1-1/3 IP, 0 Runs, 2 Ks (17 Ks, 22-2/3 IP)
Mike Adams, SD:  1 IP, 0 Runs, 2 Ks (46 Ks, 41 IP)
Mike Zagurski, PHI:  1 IP, 1 Run, 3 Ks (8 Ks, 5-1/3 IP)
Joaquin Benoit, TB:  1 IP, 0 Runs, 2 Ks (38 Ks, 25-2/3 IP)
Brendan Donnelly, PIT:  1 IP, 0 Runs, 2 Ks (18 Ks, 24-2/3 IP)
