Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts – 8/14/10

Aug 15, 2010

Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

Jason Bartlett, Tampa Bay Rays
Bartlett went 3 for 4 with 5 to raise his average to .248. He is 9 for 22 (.409) in his last six games.

Brian Duensing, Minnesota Twins
Duensing threw a three-hit shutout to improve to 6-1 with a 2.00 ERA. He’s getting more comfortable as a starter and the Twins are giving him a deeper pitch count. He is a good option going forward.

Bud Norris, Houston Astros
Norris gave up 2 runs on 5 hits with 14 Ks in 7 innings to improve to 5-7 with a 5.42 ERA. He’s a gamble, but he will give you Ks.

Wilson Betemit, Kansas City Royals
Betemit went 3 for 4 with a HR and 2 RBIs to raise his average to .348. He’s 6 for 10 in his past three games.

Ian Kennedy, Arizona Diamondbacks
Kennedy gave up 2 runs on 5 hits with 7 Ks in 7 innings to improve to 7-9 with a 4.38 ERA.
