Brandon Phillips
went 3 for 5 with 3 Runs, 3 HRs, and 3 RBI.  Carlos Delgado went 2 for 2 with 3 runs, a pair of HRs, 2 RBI, and 2 Walks.  Nate McLouth went 2 for 4 with 2 Runs, 2 HRs, 3 RBI, and a Walk.  Paul Konerko went 2 for 2 with 2 Runs, 2 HRs, 2 RBI and 2 Walks. Alex Rios went 4 for 5 with 3 Runs.  Luis Castillo, Raul Casanova, Jose Batista. Wes Helms, Josh Hamilton, Michael Young, each had three hits.  Milton Bradley and Torii Hunter each drove in 3 runs.


James Shields
threw a a two-hit shutout with 7 Ks to improve to 3-1 with a  2.54 ERA.  Josh Beckett pitched well (7 innings, 4 hits, 1 earned run, 13 Ks) in a losing effort.  Vicente Padilla threw a complete game shutout  for his 3rd win of the year.  Paul Maholm allowed 1 run on 2 hits for his second win of the year.  Chien-Ming Wang threw seven scoreless innings allowing 4 hits while striking out 9.  C.C. Sabathia pitched a gem (8 innings, 4 hits, 8 Ks), but took the 1-0 loss.  John “Instant Karma” Lannan threw 7 shutout innings to improve to 2-2 with a 2.64 ERA.  Ted Lilly pitched well (6 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs, 7 Ks) but took the loss.  Jose Contreras allowed 1 run in 6 innings for his second win.  Jesse Litsch allowed 1 earned run in 7 innings for his third win of the year.  Kyle Lohse allowed 1 run in 6 innings to improve to 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA.  Brandon Webb allowed 1 unearned run in 6 innings of work to improve to 6-0 with a 1.98 ERA.  Jake Peavy pitched 7 innings allowing 2 runs with 9 Ks for the loss.  Edison Volquez improved to 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA following his 7 inning, 1 run, 10 K performance.  Joe Blanton picked up his second win after he allowed 2 runs in 7 innings.  Felix Hernandez struck out 10, but took the loss.  Jeff Francis pitched 7 innings allowing 2 runs with 6 Ks for a no-decision.  Jered Weaver went 6-1/3 innings allowing 2 runs with 5 Ks for his second win.
