Nick Swisher went 3 for 5 with 3 Runs, a Double, a HR, and 5 RBI. Marlon Byrd hit a HR and had 5 RBI. Ian Kinsler went 3 for 5 with 2 Runs, a HR, and 3 RBI. Bengie Molina had 4 RBI. Adam Lind, Evan Longoria, Andruw Jones, Fred Lewis, and Kevin Youkilis had 3 Hits.
Jarrod Washburn gave up five Hits in eight scoreless Innings to earn the W. Chris Carpenter gave up 1 Unearned Run on 1 Hit with 7 Ks in 7 scoreless Innings to get the Win for the Cardinals. Matt Garza gave up 1 Run on 4 Hits with 5 Ks in a seven-Inning Win. Matt Cain gave up 1 Run on 4 Hits with 5 Ks in a seven-Inning Win. Ricky Romero gave up 2 Runs with 5 Ks in a six-Inning Win. A.J. Burnett gave up 2 Runs with 6 Ks in 5-1/3 Innings for his first Win with the Yankees. Sometimes Washburn goes out there and just tears it up. But by the time someone picks him up he’ll turn around and lay an egg. He seems to have a month or so streak each year where he’s fairly lights out but it usually only happens once a year; the other five months he can be atrocious.

Agree. Consistency isn’t his strong suit. It doesn’t hurt that the Twins just aren’t hitting.
