Fantasy Baseball Players of the Day – 5/21

Ryan Howard went 3 for 5 with 2 HRs and 4 RBI.  Jack Cust, Jermaine Dye, and Vladimir Guerrero each went 2 for 4 with 2 HR and 4 RBI.  Skip Schumaker went 4 for 5 with 2 Runs, a Double, and a Walk.  Bobby Crosby, Mark Teixeira (3 RBI), Brian McCann (3 Runs), Jeff Francoeur (4 RBI), David DeJesus, Jacoby Ellsbury (3 Runs), Dustin Pedroia, A-Rod,  Shane Victorino (3 Runs), Pedro Feliz, Jesus Flores,  Stephen Drew, Michael Bourn, Josh Hamilton, Chris Shelton, and Aaron Miles each had three Hits.  Joey Gathright scored 3 Runs.  Marques Thames hit a Grand Slam.  Carlos Lee, Ryan Ludwick, Troy Glaus, Adrian Gonzalez, and Ian Kinsler each had 3 RBI.

Three-way tie on the mound.  Dana Eveland pitched a Complete Game allowing 1 run on 3 Hits to improve to 4-3 with a 2.90 ERA.  Ben Sheets also threw a Complete Game allowing just 1 Run. He scattered 11 Hits, but improved to 5-1 with a 2.92 ERA.  Sidney Ponson got some revenge against the Twins with a Complete Game allowing 1 Run to improve to 3-0 with a 2.95 ERA.  Ubaldo Jimenez fired 7 scoreless Innings allowing 3 Hits to beat Jonathan Sanchez, who allowed 2 Runs in 6 Innings.  Jair Jurrjens allowed 1 Earned Run in 7 Innings to improve to 4-3 with a 2.64 ERA.  Darrell Rasner pitched 7 scoreless Innings allowing 5 Hits while striking out 6 to improve to 3-0 with a 1.89 ERA.  Jamie Moyer threw 6 scoreless Innings to run his recored to 4-3.  Ricky Nolasco (7 Innings, 1 Run, 3 Hits, 7 Ks) handed Brandon Webb his first loss of the year.  Nolasco is now 3-3.  Javier Vazquez gave up 2 Runs on 4 Hits with 7 Ks in 7 Innings to improve to 5-3 with a 3.43 ERA.  Hiroki Kuroda allowed 2 Runs on 5 Hits in 8 Innings to improve to 2-3 with a 3.48 ERA.
