Pitcher
Edinson Vólquez – Talk about a dandy week for Edison. He went 14 innings in two starts against the Dodgers and the Giants allowing 1 run each start for a 1.29 ERA. His WHIP was 1.07. He struck out 17 batters in his two victories.
Catcher
Wil Nieves - Washington’s Nieves was outstanding last week going 8 for 16 (.500) with 5 Runs, 1 HR, 4 RBI, and Walk.
Corner Infielder
Mike Sweeney - Mike had a return to greatness for Oakland last week going 6 for 13 (.462) with with 3 Runs, a Double, 2 HRs, 5 RBI, and a Walk.
Middle Infielder
Ronny Cedeño - Ronny had an excellent week going 9 for 24 (.375) with 4 Runs, 3 Doubles, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 1 Walk, and 1 Stolen Base. Not too bad for the Cubbie.
Outfielder
Jayson Werth – Philadelphia’s Werth broke the run of St. Louis Cardinals in the OF slot by going 10 for 31 (.323) with 9 Runs, 3 Doubles, 4 HR, 7 RBI, and 3 Walks.
