Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 1/13/10
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
Earl Watson, Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are getting healthy and Watson could have plenty assists coming. He had nine last night to go along with 14 points. He has averaged 8.3 assists over his past four games.
Jared Jeffries, New York Knicks
Jeffries had 15 points and 9 rebounds. He’s averaging 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in his last four games. He’s also a nice source for steals and blocks as long as he’s getting steady minutes. He’s a nice daily league guy.
DeJuan Blair, San Antonio Spurs
With Tim Duncan out, Blair was a beast scoring 28 points and pulling down 21 rebounds. I’m sure he’ll be a popular guy on the waiver wire today.
Antonio McDyess, San Antonio Spurs
McDyess also stepped up with 13 & 9, but he’ll garner less attention.
Wayne Ellington, Minnesota Timberwolves
Ellington had 17 points and 6 rebounds last night. He doesn’t have games like this often enough to concern yourself with him.
Shane Battier, Houston Rockets
Battier had 14 points and 12 rebounds to go along with 5 blocks. He’s definitely worth having in daily leagues because he contributes in so many categories, but is hard to use in weekly leagues.
Chuck Hayes, Houston Rockets
Hayes was a menace on the glass grabbing 17 boards to go with his 10 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Unfortunately games like this don’t come along very often for Hayes.
Matt Barnes, Orlando Magic
Barnes erupted for 28 points and 9 rebounds. He’s averaging 18.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in his last three games.
Luke Ridnour, Milwaukee Bucks
Ridnour had 12 points and 8 assists last night. He’s averaging seven dimes a night over his last three games.
Jodie Meeks, Milwaukee Bucks
Meeks dropped 21 points. He could shoulder more of the scoring load with Michael Redd done for the year.
Anthony Morrow, Golden State Warriors
He’s wildly inconsistent (24 points last night, 8 combined points in his two previous games), but Golden State is dealing with injury issues so he should get playing time and opportunities. He’s not a bad choice for daily transaction leagues if you’re looking for a quick scoring boost.
