Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 1/2/10

Jan 3, 2010

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

Anderson Varejao, Cleveland Cavaliers
Varejao had a big game with 15 points (7-13 FG) and 12 rebounds. He’s averaging 8.8 rebounds in his last six games.

Quentin Richardson, Miami Heat
Q dropped 20 points (six three-pointers) on the Bobcats. He’s averaging 10.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 three-pointers in his last five games.

Wayne Ellington, Minnesota Timberwolves
Ellington scored 16 in the loss to Indiana. He’s averaging 14.0 points in his last three games.

Luther Head, Indiana Pacers
Luther scored 21 in a win over Minnesota. He is averaging 17.8 points and 2.2 three-pointers in his last five games.

Brandon Rush, Indiana Pacers
Rush followed up his 15 point effort on 12/30 with 16 points last night. He has seven three-pointers in his last two games.

Roger Mason, San Antonio Spurs
Mason had 20 points (four three-pointers) last night. He’s too inconsistent to put in a weekly lineup, but is a nice option in daily leagues if you need points and three-pointers.

Glen Davis, Boston Celtics
Big Baby had 15 points last night. He only had 11 points in three games before last night so don’t plug him into your lineups just yet.

Kyle Lowry, Houston Rockets
Lowry had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists last night. He’s averaging 5.2 assists in his last five games.

Matt Barnes, Orlando Magic
Barnes had 23 points last night. He’s played well since being inserted into the starting lineup. If he keeps it up, he’s worth adding to your fantasy squad.

Taj Gibson
Taj had a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds) last night. His inconsistency and Tyrus Thomas’ recent return limit his fantasy value.

Hakim Warrick, Milwaukee Bucks
Warrick had 14 points and 8 rebounds last night despite shooting 5 for 15. He’s averaging 13.3 points in his last four games.

Sam Young, Memphis Grizzlies
Young dropped 22 points on Phoenix. He has reached double-figure in four of his last five games.

Louis Amundson, Phoenix Suns
On a night where Channing Frye was ineffective, Amundson scored 14 with seven rebounds and five blocks. He’ll need more consistent production before you add him.

Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets
Lawson had 23 points, 9 assists, and 3 steals. He’s averaging 13.8 points and 5.0 assists in his last five games.

Martell Webster, Portland Trail Blazers
Martell had 21 points and 11 rebounds. I know it was against Golden State. However, he has reached double-figures in four of his last five games.

Jose Juan Barea, Dallas Mavericks
Barea had 17 points last night to bounce back from his four-point effort on New Year’s Eve. Despite that dud, he’s averaging 13.4 points in his last five games.

Omri Casspi, Sacramento Kings
Casspi had 22 points and 11 rebounds. It was his third straight game with 20+ points. He’s quietly becoming one of the best Rookies in the league.
