Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 11/1/09

Nov 2, 2009

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

J.J. Redick, Orlando Magic
45 minutes, 27 points, 8-14 FG, 6-7 FT, 5 three-pointers, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover
Strong performance, but it came in Vince Carter’s absence. Don’t expect many outbursts like this.

Peja Stojakovic, New Orleans Hornets
32 minutes, 26 points, 9-15 FG, 2-2 FT, 6 three-pointers, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 turnovers
Peja was off to a slow start prior to this outburst. He’s still capable of scoring in bunches on any given night, but he’s not the same threat anymore. He’s a great source for threes, and that’s about it.

Luol Deng, Chicago Bulls
36 minutes, 26 points, 11-21 FG, 4-5 FT, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover
Deng bounced back from his 4 point disaster with a real nice game. As long as he stays healthy, he should be a solid contributor.

Udonis Haslem, Miami Heat
35 minutes, 19 points, 9-13 FG, 1-1 FT, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover
Haslem continues to pound the glass, and finally showed a scoring touch. He should be owned in all leagues at this point.

Ryan Gomes, Minnesota Timberwolves
37 minutes, 23 points, 10-13 FG, 1-2 FT, 2 three-pointers, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 turnover
Gomes struggled in the first two games before breaking out big time. The Wolves are so inconsistent that it’s hard to rely on anyone other than Big Al.

Corey Brewer, Minnesota Timberwolves
34 minutes, 19 points, 8-18 FG, 3-6 FT, 7 rebounds, 1 assits, 2 steals, 1 turnover
Like I said, the Wolves are very inconsistent. Add at your own risk.

Grant Hill, Phoenix Suns
31 minutes, 23 points, 8-16 FG, 6-6 FT, 1 three-pointer, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 turnovers
Jason Richardson’s return didn’t slow down Hill.

Channing Frye, Phoenix Suns
36 minutes, 25 points, 8-12 FG, 3-4 FT, 6 three-pointers, 5 rebounds, 1 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers
Frye just continues to light it up from outside.

Jamal Crawford, Atlanta Hawks
30 minutes, 17 points, 6-14 FG,5-5 FT3 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 turnovers
You knew he’d come around, but what is concerning is the lack of 3′s. Also he turned the ball over quite a bit considering he had just one assist.

Nice list Lester, I missed out on Frye when he went to the Suns. Should have seen that one coming. Playing with Nash should really help his offensive game.
