Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 12/19/09

Dec 20, 2009

Before we get started, check out this week’s roundtable discussion on injured players that should provide dividends (click here to read the article). Be sure to take a look at next week’s NBA schedule as you prepare to set your lineup (click here for a look).

Now, here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

C.J. Miles, Utah Jazz
35 MIN, 20 PTS, 8-16 FG, 1-2 FT, 3 3PM, 5 REB, 3 AST, 3 STL, 2 BLK, 1 TO
Miles needs to show he can do this for a stretch before you add him.

D.J. Augustin, Charlotte Bobcats
14 MIN, 16 PTS, 3-6 FG, 9-10 FT, 1 3PM, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK
His minutes played is the most telling stat. Don’t trust him yet.

Rasual Butler, Los Angeles Clippers
28 MIN, 18 PTS, 7-11 FG, 2-2 FT, 2 3PM, 4 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 TO
Butler is averaging 15.8 points over his past four games.

Marreese Speights, Philadelphia 76ers
35 MIN, 28 PTS, 11-20 FG, 6-9 FT, 9 REB, 1 AST, 1 TO
Speights is back in a big way.

Chuck Hayes, Houston Rockets
31 MIN, 13 PTS, 6-9 FG, 1-2 FT, 15 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 2 TO
Hayes stepped it up as Carl Landry (teeth) was out. If he misses any more games, Hayes could continue to produce more, but Landry is tough and shouldn’t be out long.

Carlos Delfino, Milwaukee Bucks
30 MIN, 17 PTS, 7-14 FG, 3 3PM, 4 REB, 1 AST, 1 TO
Delfino has slowed of late, but this effort reminds you that he has fantasy value.

Roy Hibbert, Indiana Pacers
35 MIN, 20 PTS, 9-15 FG, 2-2 FT, 7 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL, 6 BLK, 2 TO
Hibbert is frustrating to own, but is capable of big games like this.

Nick Young, Washington Wizards
28 MIN, 20 PTS, 6-9 FG, 6-6 FT, 2 3PM, 5 REB, 1 AST, 1 BLK
Young has struggled in December so see if he can build on this performance before adding him.
