Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 1/25/10

Jan 26, 2010

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

Brandon Rush, Indiana Pacers
Rush was featured in yesterday’s Waiver Wire Bin article (click to read). He continued his string of success with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 three-pointers.

Daniel Gibson, Cleveland Cavaliers
Gibson had 15 points filling in for Delonte West, who was filling in for Mo Williams. Look for Gibson to have some value while West remains out.

Arron Afflalo, Denver Nuggets
Afflalo had 24 points and 7 assists.  Carmelo Anthony was out, which contributed to his scoring boost. He has averaged 16.0 points over his last four games. He’s a decent short-term play.

Goran Dragic, Phoenix Suns
After dropping 20 points on Saturday Dragic followed up with 32 last night. With Leandro Barbosa out, he should have solid fantasy value.

Wesley Matthews, Utah Jazz
Matthews has 21 points and 5 assists against the Suns. He’s been slow of late, so make sure he’s on the up swing before you pick  him up.

Marcus Thornton, New Orleans Hornets
Thornton had 19 points for the Hornets. He’s averaging 13.8 points over his last five games. He doesn’t contribute in many other categories though.

Juwan Howard, Portland Trail Blazers
Juwan had 16 points and 7 rebounds. He’ll give you some boards, but doesn’t score regularly.
