Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 12/9/09

Dec 10, 2009

Before we get started, check out this week’s round table debate on the top three fantasy basketball rookies (click here from the article).

Now, here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

James Johnson, Chicago Bulls
19 MIN, 17 PTS, 4-7 FG, 8-8 FT, 1 3PM, 2 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 2 BLK
This game came out of nowhere. If he can follow it up a couple times you may have something, otherwise leave him be.

Maurice Evans, Atlanta Hawks
24 MIN, 18 PTS, 6-8 FG, 2-2 FT, 4 3PM, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 2 BLK
Evan had a monster game thanks to blowing out the Bulls.

Joel Pryzbilla, Portland Trail Blazers
30 MIN, 12 PTS, 4-7 FG, 4-7 FT, 8 REB, 1 BLK, 1 TO
Pyrzbilla is going to have good games like this now that Greg Oden is done for the year.

Tyler Hansbrough, Indiana Pacers
22 MIN, 13 PTS, 4-14 FG, 5-7 FT, 11 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL
He shot poorly, but was active on the boards. He could see a bump in production with Danny Granger out, but probably not enough to be relevant.

Jonas Jerebko, Detroit Pistons
39 MIN, 17 PTS, 7-12 FG, 2-2 FT, 1 3PM, 10 REB, 2 AST, 4 TO
Jonas is averaging 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds over his last six games.

Mikki Moore, Golden State Warriors
27 MIN, 16 PTS, 8-12 FG, 7 REB, 2 AST, 1 BLK
There is an opportunity for Mikki with all of the Warriors’ frontcourt injuries. I’d look for him to continue to play like this before picking him up though.

C.J. Watson, Golden State Warriors
30 MIN, 18 PTS, 8-14 FG, 2 3PM, 2 REB, 2 AST, 5 STL, 1 TO
Watson is a big part of Golden State’s rotation, and has averaged 14.8 points over the last six games, all double-digit efforts.

Courtney Lee, New Jersey Nets
42 MIN, 15 PTS, 6-12 FG, 3-4 FT, 8 REB, 3 AST, 2 STL, 1 TO
Lee is averaging 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds over his past six games.

Jarrett Jack, Toronto Raptors
33 MIN, 12 PTS, 6-11 FG, 3 REB, 7 AST, 3 STL4 TO
Jack has value when he comes off Toronto’s bench, but the past couple games he has started and put up really nice numbers. Jose Calderon is day-to-day, and if he misses any more time Jack is due for another big game.

Ersan Ilyasova, Milwaukee Bucks
33 MIN, 17 PTS, 5-11 FG, 5-6 FT, 2 3PM, 9 REB, 3 TO
It took him a little to jive with Bogut, but he’s playing great again.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Milwaukee Bucks
40 MIN, 16 PTS, 6-8 FG, 4-5 FT, 4 REB, 2 STL, 1 BLK, 2 TO
He typically doesn’t score like this and isn’t worth owning.

Roko Ukic, Milwaukee Bucks
25 MIN, 17 PTS, 5-9 FG, 5 FT, 2 3PM, 2 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 1 TO
Nice game, but he’s not worth a roster spot.

Marcus Thornton, New Orleans Hornets
24 MIN, 20 PTS, 8-13 FG, 1-2 FT, 3 3PM, 1 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL, 1 TO
Thornton hasn’t been the same since Chris Paul returned.

Ryan Gomes, Minnesota Timberwolves
35 MIN, 21 PTS, 10-16 FG, 1 3PM, 6 REB, 1 ASTm 2 STL, 3 TO
Gomes has averaged 20.3 points over his past six games.

Omri Casspi, Sacramento Kings
31 MIN, 20 PTS, 9-14 FG, 2 3PM, 7 REB, 2 AST, 3 TO
He missed Tuesday’s game and bounced back in a big way. He’s inconsistent, but has been playing solid of late.
