Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 12/11/10

Dec 12, 2010

.
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
.
DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers
Jordan scored 10 points (5-9 FG) with 14 rebounds. He’s averaging 9.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in his past two games. Keep an eye on him.
.
Glen Davis, Boston Celtics
Big Baby scored 16 points (6-12 FG, 4-6 FT) with 7 rebounds and a block. He’s scored 16 points in his last four games with 7.8 rebounds per night during that stretch.
.
Nazr Mohammed, Charlotte Bobcats
Mohammed scored 14 points (7-11 FG) with 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He’s averaging 13.5 points and 3.5 blocks in his past two games.
.
Jerryd Bayless & Leandro Barbosa, Tornto Raptors
Bayless, filling in for Jose Calderon, scored 31 points (10-12 FG, 10-12 FT, 1-2 FT) with 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and a steal. Calderon is expected back soon, so don’t expect him to continue to put up huge numbers for long. Barbosa added 22 points (8-13 FG, 3-3 FT, 3-4 3PM) with 3 rebounds, 7 assists, and a steal. It seems like his scoring is back, but the boost in assists won’t continue when Calderon returns. He’s worth owning, but can be quite inconsistent.
.
Ben Wallace, Detroit Pistons
Big Ben, who sat out last night’s game, returned in a big way. He scored 23 points (10-13 FG, 2-4 FT, 1-1 3PM) with 14 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. He could not have been in many lineups, and it probably should stay that way.
.
Taj Gibson, Chicago Bulls
Gibson scored 12 points (5-16 FG, 2-2 FT) with 10 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, and a block. That’s an awful lot of shot for only a dozen points. He’s been mostly an afterthought since Carlos Boozer’s return. His bump came from blowing out the defensively challenged Wolves.
.
Shane Battier & Chase Budinger, Houston Rockets
Battier scored 16 points (5-11 FG, 2-4 FT, 4-9 3PM) with 2 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. He’s only a borderline fantasy option. Budinger also scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 1-1 FT, 3-6 3PM) with 5 rebounds. He’s simply not a fantasy option.
.
DeShawn Stevenson, Orlando Magic
Stevenson scored 17 points (5-9 FG, 2-2 FT, 5-7 3PM) with a rebound, 4 assists, and a steal. Look elsewhere.
.
Omri Casspi, Sacramento Kings
Casspi scored 20 points (7-13 FG, 1-2 FT, 5-7 3PM) with 3 rebounds and am assist. He’s averaging 17.7 points in his past three games.
