Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 12/14/10

Dec 15, 2010

.
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
.

Spencer Hawes, Philadelphia 76ers
Hawes scored 18 points (8-11 FG, 2-3 3PM) with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. He’s averaging 11.3 points and 7 rebounds in his past four games.
.
Travis Outlaw, New Jersey Nets
Outlaw scored 14 points (6-17 FG, 2-6 3PM) with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and 2 blocks. Even with the decent game, he’s averaging just 5.0 points in his past five games.Kris Humphries grabbed 13 rebounds if you need help in that category..
.
Shannon Brown, Los Angeles Lakers
Brown scored 16 points (6-13 FG, 2-2 FT, 2-6 3PM) with 3 rebounds. He’s a solid bench player for the Lakers, but not much of a fantasy option.
.
Nick Young, Washington Wizards
Young had 21 points (9-21 FG, 3-3 FT) with a rebound, 2 assists, and 2 steals as John Wall sat out. He missed all four of his three-point attempts. Young is a solid option while Wall is out.
.
Amir Johnson & Jerryd Bayless, Toronto Raptors
Johnson scored 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 FT) with 12 rebounds, and assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He averaged just 6.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in his previous three games so it was good to see him bounce back. Bayless scored 17 points (6-14 FG, 3-4 FT, 2-5 3PM) with 3 rebounds, 9 assists, and a steal. Bayless has great value while Jose Calderon is out, and could be earning the starting job even when he returns.
.
Nazr Mohammed, Charlotte Bobcats
Mohammed scored 18 points (8-11 FG, 2-5 FT) with 8 rebounds, an assist, and a block. He’s averaging 15 points in his past three games. These hot streaks don’t usually last long so ride him while you can.
.
Tracy McGrady, Detroit Pistons
T-Mac scored 16 points (5-9 FG, 2-2 FT, 4-6 3PM) with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, and a block. He can’t be trusted at this stage of his career.
.
Carl Landry, Sacramento Kings
Landry scored 17 points (6-10 FG, 5-9 FT) with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Trying to guess which King player will step up on a given night is like trying to win the lottery.
.
Chase Budinger, Houston Rockets
Budinger scored 18 points (7-10 FG, 1-2 FT, 3-4 3PM) with 4 rebounds and an assist. He hasn’t done much to date, but he did score 16 his last time out so he’s worth keeping an eye on.
.
J.J. Redick, Orlando Magic
Redick blew up with 29 points (9-12 FG, 5-7 FT, 6-9 3PM) with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. He’s averaging 14.2 points in his past five games.
.
Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets
Chauncey Billups will be out a week adn Lawson didn’t waste any time stepping up. He scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 3-3 FT, 1-3 3PM) with 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal. Look for a short-term boost while Billups is out.
.
Darko Milicic & Martell Webster, Minnesota Timberwolves
Darko scored 25 points (12-19 FG, 1-1 FT) with 11 rebounds and a steal. He was bound to do well against Golden State, but has cooled from his earlier hot stretch. Webster added 17 points (6-8 FG, 3-5 FT, 2-2 3PM) with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. Quite a season debut for Webster. Maybe see how he does against another team before adding him.
