Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 12/15/10
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers
Jordan scored 15 points (7-7 FG, 1-2 FT) with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. It’s enough to keep him from being heckled by his owner, but doesn’t make him fantasy worthy.
Spencer Hawes, Philadelphia 76ers
Hawes struggled with his shot (7-18 FG, 2-4 FT), but finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds, an assist, and 5 blocks. He’s averaging 12.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in his past five games.
Leandro Barbosa, Toronto Raptors
Barbosa scored 21 points (7-13 FG, 5-5 FT, 2-3 3PM) with 3 rebounds and 2 assists. He’s averaging 19.3 points in his past five games. Jerryd Bayless scored 20 points of his own, but he’s probably owned in most leagues by now.
Marcus Thornton, New Orleans Hornets
Thornton scored 19 points (8-15 FG, 1-1 FT, 2-2 3PM) with 4 rebounds, a steal, and a block. He can get hot so I’ll keep an eye on him, but one game doesn’t make him roster worthy.
Thabo Sefolosha & James Harden, Oklahoma City Thunder
Sefolosha scored 15 points (5-8 FG, 4-4 FT, 1-1 3PM) with 9 rebounds, an assist, a steal, and 2 blocks. Harden added 16 points (5-7 FG, 4-5 FT, 2-3 3PM) with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal. Oklahoma City scored 117 points last night, a number they won’t reach very often. This duo won’t likely be as productive very often either.
O.J. Mayo, Memphis Grizzlies
Mayo scored 24 points (10-15 FG, 1-1 FT, 3-6 3PM) with a rebound, 4 assists, and a steal. He’s averaging 17 points over his past three games while shooting 55.6 percent from the field. Perhaps he can start being trusted by the Grizzlies and his fantasy owners again.
Chris Douglas-Roberts, Milwaukee Bucks
CD-R scored 21 points (8-15 FG, 3-3 FT, 2-3 3PM) with 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He could be used as a bench option in deeper leagues.
Corey Brewer & Wesley Johnson, Minnesota Timberwolves
Brewer scored 20 points (9-18 FG, 1-1 FT, 1-5 3PM) with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. Johnson added 17 points (7-12 FG, 2-2 FT, 1-4 3PM) with 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks. The Wolves swing players are so inconsistent, and with Martell Webster now in the mix, look for it to be even worse.
