Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 12/18/10
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
Brandon Bass, Orlando Magic
Bass scored 18 points (8-19 FG, 2-2 FT) with 8 rebounds. He’s averaging 14.8 points and 7.5 rebounds in his past four games.
Nick Young, Washington Wizards
Young scored 30 points (13-23 FG, 2-2 FT, 2-2 3PM) with 4 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. He’s averaging 22.5 points in his past four games, and should continue to shoulder the scoring load following the Gilbert Arenas trade.
Anthony Parker, Cleveland Cavaliers
Parker scored 17 points (5-9 FG, 5-7 FT, 2-3 3PM) with 6 rebounds, an assist, and 2 steals. It was his second straight game with 17 points and fourth straight in double-figures. He’s averaging 14.3 points over that span.
C.J. Miles, Utah Jazz
Miles scored 16 points (6-16 FG, 2-2 FT, 2-5 3PM) with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. He’s averaging 15.4 points in his past five games.
O.J. Mayo, Memphis Grizzlies
Mayo scored 27 points (11-19 FG, 5-8 3PM) with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. He played a bigger role and more minutes (47) with Rudy Gay serving a one-game suspension. Still, he’s averaging 16.8 points in his past five games and tonight’s game could help restore his fantasy value going forward.
Ty Lawson, Arron Afflalo & J.R. Smith, Denver Nuggets
Lawson scored 23 points (8-16 FG, 6-7 FT, 1-2 3PM) with 4 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals. Chauncey Billups should return soon, which would put a serious harsh on Lawson’s fantasy value. Afflalo added 17 points (5-11 FG, 4-5 FT, 3-6 3PM) with 3 rebounds and an assist. He’s averaging 17.3 points in his past three games. Finally, Smith pitched in with 18 points (5-11 FG, 6-7 FT, 2-7 3PM) with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. He’s averaging 15.3 points in his past three games. All three are bound to take a hit when Billups returns.
Reggie Williams, Golden State Warriors
Williams scored 16 points (6-14 FG, 3-3 FT, 1-5 3PM) with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. He’s averaging 21.0 points in his past five games and remains a solid option until Steph Curry returns.
Rudy Fernandez, Portland Trail Blazers
Fernandez scored 15 points (6-12 FG, 1-2 FT, 2-4 3PM) with 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. He’s averaging 20.5 points in his past two games and is a nice short-term option until Brandon Roy returns.
