Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 1/30/11

Jan 31, 2011

.
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
.
J.J. Redick, Orlando Magic
Redick scored 17 points (6-10 FG, 3-4 FT, 2-4 3PM) with a rebound. He hasn’t been as consistent of late.
.
J.R. Smith, Denver Nuggets
Smith scored 23 points (9-17 FG, 5-6 FT) with 9 rebounds, an assist, and 3 steals. He’s been slow of late, but definitely has games like this in him.
.
Thaddeus Young, Philadelphia 76ers
Young scored 21 points (10-12 FG, 1-2 FT) with 7 rebounds, an assist, a steal, and 2 blocks. Young is averaging 16.0 points in his past four games.
.
Manny Harris & Samardo Samuels, Cleveland Cavaliers
Harris scored 20 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 FT, 3-5 3PM) with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. He started so he should have better numbers in that role, but he’s not a reliable option. Samuels added 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-5 FT) with 2 rebounds and a steal. He’s not a fantasy option.
.
Timofey Mozgov, New York Knicks
Mozgov scored 23 points (9-15 FG, 5-6 FT) with 14 rebounds and an assist. If he can get steady minutes in this system, he’d be worth a look.
.
Marcus Thornton, New Orleans Hornets
Thornton scored 1o points (3-11 FG, 3-5 FT, 1-3 3PM) with 10 rebounds and 4 assists. He’s averaging 12.4 points in  his past five games.
.
Reggie Williams, Golden State Warriors
Williams scored 15 points (6-6 FG, 3-3 3PM) with a rebound. As long as Monta Ellis and Steph Curry are healthy, Williams doesn’t have consistent fantasy value.

Ryan Anderson had a pretty good night too, 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 threes! He’s been great since the departure of Rashard Lewis.

No doubt. He’s gotten to be good so regularly that I stopped tracking him since he’s owned in any good league. Gortat is in the same boat.
