Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 1/9/11

Jan 10, 2011

.
Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.
.
Jason Thompson & Carl Landry, Sacramento Kings
Thompson scored 19 points (6-12 FG, 7-8 FT) with 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He’s averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in his past five games.  Landry added 22 points (7-13 FG. 8-10 FT) with 5 rebounds, an assist, and block. He’s averaging 13.6 points in his past five games.
.
Leandro Barbosa, Toronto Raptors
Barbosa scored 18 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 FT, 3-3 3PM) with 5 rebounds. He’s averaging 17.5 points in his past four games.
.
Luke Ridnour, Minnesota Timberwolves
Ridnour scored 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-3 3PM) with 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and a steal. He’s averaging 11.2 points and 6.6 assists in the past five games.
.
Matt Bonner, San Antonio Spurs
Bonner scored 11 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT, 1-3 3PM) with 9 rebounds and an assist. His play is inconsistent and the Wolves aren’t exactly known for their defense.
.
Manny Harris & J.J. Hickson, Cleveland Cavaliers
Harris scored 27 points (7-13 FG, 9-11 FT, 4-7 3PM) with 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. He’s averaging 21.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in his past two games. Hickson added 23 points (8-23 FG, 7-11 FT) with 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. It appears his DNP-CD worked as he has averaged 20.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in his last two games.
.
Jared Dudley, Channing Frye & Robin Lopez, Phoenix Suns
Dudley scored 21 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 FT, 5-8 3PM) with 7 rebounds and a block. He’s averaging 15.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in his past five games. Frye added 16 points (6-13 FG, 4-6 3PM) with 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. He should be more of a fantasy factor as long as he’s in the starting lineup. Lopez chipped in with 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-2 FT), 6 rebounds, an assist, a steal, and 3 blocks. I’m afraid Gortat’s presence keeps Lopez from being a good fantasy option.
.
Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers
Batum scored 22 points (9-16 FG, 3-3 FT, 1-5 3PM) with 4 rebounds and a block. He’s averaging 15.0 points in his past five games.
.
Shannon Brown, Los Angeles Lakers
Brown scored 16 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 FT, 3-4 3PM) with a rebound and a steal. He is too inconsistent for fantasy purposes.
