Fantasy Basketball: Little Man Nate

Are you in need of a little scoring boost? There is a 5’9″ point guard out there that could be a short-term solution. Short jokes aside, Nate Robinson can score the basketball.
.
Sure, he’s bounced around the league a bit going from New York to Boston to Oklahoma City to Golden State since the 2009-10 season. Last year was a disaster, but he’s only a few years removed from averaging 17.2 ppg for the Knicks.
.
Nate scored 24 points last night, including an absurd 14-14 from the free throw line as the Warriors knocked off the Heat in overtime. He should see some nice opportunities over the next week or two while Stephen Curry is on the shelf.
.
I don’t see him suddenly dropping 20 points a night, but maintaining his 14.7 ppg scoring average while Curry is out isn’t out of the question.
.
You’re going to have to deal with the shooting percentage. There’s really no way around that. He jacks up a lot of shots and he tends to make around fourty percent of them.
.
He makes up for his poor shooting by draining a lot of three-pointers (1.7 tpg on the year, 1.3 career), grabbing a good amount of rebounds (2.3, 2.6), especially for his size, assists (4.7, 2.6), and steals (1.7, 0.9).
.
Nate is owned in less than fifteen percent of fantasy leagues so he should be pretty readily available. He qualifies at PG and SG, which gives you a little positional flexibility.
.
Remember that this is most likely just a quick fix, and his value will go down drastically when Curry returns. However, he should give you some solid performances in the meantime.
