Fantasy Football Forum – Week 14

Dec 15, 2009

Before we get started, check out my Week 15 NFL picks.

Fantasy Football Forum
How did the opening round of the fantasy playoffs go for you?

I’m in five leagues so I’ll recap each one.

KFFL Analysis League - Petyon Manning, Andre Johnson, and Antonio Gates played well for me. Ray Rice, Frank Gore, and Ocho played well for my opponent. I finished with a decent score, but just ran into a buzz saw. I would have beat either of the other two playoff teams, but those are the breaks.
Record:  9-4, Eliminated First Round of Playoffs

Fantasy Football Search League – I earned a bye in the playoffs in this league, which is surprising given my record. This league was as even as any I have ever been in. There was one 9-4 team, one 8-5 team, six 7-6 teams, two 6-7 teams, one 5-8 team, and one 2-11 team. This league was split into two division, and I had the most points of the four 7-6 teams in my division. In fact I had the most points in the league.
Record:  7-6, First Round Bye

Rotoprofessor Challenge - Donovan McNabb, Ricky Williams, LT, T.O., DeSean Jackson, and Baltimore D played well for me. Tony Romo, Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Fred Davis, Brandon Marshall, and Tennessee D played well for my opponent. It wasn’t meant to be. The RP assembled an incredible team. Not only did I face the highest of the playoff scorers, I faced the highest score in the league all year.
Record:  7-6, Eliminated First Round of Playoffs

My Keeper League – Andre Johnson, Ocho, Brent Celek, and New York Jets D played well for me. Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles, Rob Bironas, DeSean Jackson, Vernon Davis, and Marques Colston played well for my opponent. My loss put an end to a frustrating season. If I had anyone else’s schedule I would have made the playoffs. That’s fantasy football for you.
Record:  6-8

Fantasy Trifecta League – My nightmare came to an end.
Record:  3-10

Weekly Record:  0-3
Regular Season Record: 32-35
Fantasy Playoffs Record:  0-2

That’s how my weekend of fantasy football went. How did you do?

I had a first round bye, so I was watching this game between my little brother and a douchebag carryover from my baseball league who is quitting after the season. I was rooting for my brother, and he had a 12 point lead going into MNF with only Crabtree and Vernon Davis to play for the douchebag. Crabtree and Davis both scored touchdowns, and now I’m facing the douchebag this week (luckily he is a 20 point underdog).

Hey Les, I tied for the final playoff spot but lost the points tiebreaker. Had I won that tough game last week we would have gotten in. As you said, that’s Fantasy Football for ya.

Tim – Good luck against the D-bag.

Rad – I can certainly empathize with your misery right now.
