Fantasy Football Forum/My NFL Preseason Projections

Merry Christmas

Fantasy Football Forum
Did you win your championship? I had four matchups this weekend. One was for the championship on NFL.com with some friends from the Sporting News. I was in two third place games. One was a Yahoo public league that I joined super early because I had the itch and the Sporting News mock drafts weren’t open. The other was a league of friends from college and past co-workers. Finally, in my money league I was playing in the 5th place game.

In the NFL.com championship, I made the mistake of benching Dallas Clark. I figured Anthony Gonzalez was taking Clark’s numbers so I went with Owen Daniels. I put Aaron Stecker in the lineup briefly before re-inserting LenDale White. I was fortunate enough to have TENN D, Randy Moss, and Reggie Wayne. I was up big, but was facing LT and Gates. Gates fizzled at the end, and it was too much for even LT to overcome. I was happy to see I won the title.

In my public league I put Kurt Warner in the starting spot after Romo hurt his thumb. When I found out he was OK, I went back to Romo. Dance with who brought you there. Mistake. Ryan Grant, Dwayne Bowe, and TENN D did the trick though, as I added a third place trophy to my Yahoo trophy case.

In my friend’s league I got off to a huge start with T.O., MB3, and Steven Jackson. Tony Gonzalez sealed the deal as I won that third place trophy as well. Incidentally, a guy in this league named his team Future League Champ after the draft. He lived up to the billing. Impressive.

In my keeper league, I struggled during the year, as you very may know. Andre Johnson, Isaac Bruce, Marshawn Lynch, and Kolby Smith led the way as I won the Toilet Bowl. At least I went out a winner. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have started Bruce this week, but didn’t make any moves after I was eliminated from the actual playoffs.
Learning time: If you are eliminated from the playoffs, but are still allowed to play in the consolation playoffs, do not make any roster moves. You should leave the players to the people who are actually competiting for the championship.
