Fantasy Football Forum/My NFL Preseason Projections

Fantasy Football Forum
Did you win your matchup this week? 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2? Me, I’m 2-0. I was the high scorer in my league this week despite another non-Larry Johnsonesque performance from LJ. The other Johnsons (Chad, Andre, and Rudi) carried the load for me. Tom Brady sealed the deal. I feel bad for my opponent. He had the second highest score with big games from Kellen Winslow, Housh, MN DEF, and Edge. Thankfully he had Jamal Lewis and Cotchery on the bench. I had another sucky game from a kicker. I picked up Kasay and he was awful. I hate kickers. I want to be in a league that just doesn’t have them. Next year maybe. Cedric Benson or LenDale White would have been better plays at RB than LJ. Oh well.

That’s how my weekend of fantasy football went. How did you do?

Tracking My NFL Preseason Predictions
I made a bunch of predictions in the preseason. I profiled guys I thought would do well. I also profiled guys I thought wouldn’t meet expectations. Here are mypreseason predictions are going.

J.P. Losman – Prediction: 3400 yards, 24 TDs, 16 INTs
On Pace for: 2008 yards, 0 TDs, 8 INTs
Right-O-Meter: 1
Horrible Week 2. Faced tough Pittsburgh D. Needs to step up big time. At least he didn’t throw a pick.

Alex Smith – Prediction: 3000 yards, 20 TDs, 14 INTs
On Pace for: 2016 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs
Right-O-Meter: 1
Another mediocre game for Smith. He’s winning though.

Chris Brown – Prediction: 1000 total yards, 5 TDs
On Pace for: 1712 total yards, 0 TDs
Right-O-Meter: 8
Brown came back to Earth. My projections still look pretty good.

Jerious Norwood – Prediction: 1200 total yards, 5 TDs
On Pace for: 800 yards, 0 TDs
Right-O-Meter: 5
43 total yards. Not so great.

D.J. Hackett – Prediction: 80 receptions, 1100 yards, 8 TDs
On Pace for: 4 receptions, 28 yards, 0 TDs
Did not play because of ankle injury.
Right-O-Meter: 1 – An ankle injury will keep the Right-O-Meter low all year long.

Vincent Jackson – Prediction: 64 receptions, 1100 yards, 9 TDs
On Pace for: 648 yards, 0 TDs
Right-O-Meter: 1
He better start catching some TDs if my projections are going to be even close.

Heath Miller – Prediction: 600 yard, 8 TDs
On Pace for: 552 yards, 8 TDs
Right-O-Meter: 10
34 yards. He didn’t exactly set the world on fire. A TD would have been nice.

Vince Young – Prediction: 2800 passing yards, 650 rushing yards, 16 TDs, 6 rushing TDs, 20 INTs
On Pace for: 2096 yards, 600 rushing yards, 8 TDs, 8 rushing TDs, 8 INTs
Right-O-Meter: 10
Pretty on the money thus far.

Maurice Jones-Drew- Prediction: 1100 total yards, 8 rushing & receiving TDs
On Pace for: 808 yards, 0 TDs
Right-O-Meter: 10
Another horrible performance for a 2nd round fantasy pick. 41 total yards. Are you kidding me?

Torry Holt – Prediction: 1100 yards, 7 TDs
On Pace for: 1176 yards, 16 TDs
Right-O-Meter: 3
He scored a TD for the second straight week. Can’t argue with that.

Tony Gonzalez – Prediction: 700 yards, 5 TDs
On Pace for: 568 yards, 0 TDs
Right-O-Meter: 10
43 yards. Yuck.

I continued to bomb at QB and WR. I’m still doing well at RB & TE. My bust picks, aside from Holt, are money.
