Basketball Roundtable

Time for another fantasy basketball roundtable.

This Week’s Topic:
Last week we discussed some general trade advice – this week, let’s get specific. With most fantasy league trade deadlines inching closer and
closer, which player(s) will you be targeting to acquire as a “buy low?”

And/or is there someone you would suggest trading away because you view
him as a “sell high” candidate? “

My Response:
A player that I am targeting as a “buy low” candidate is Phoenix’s Jason Richardson. As of February 6th he has averaged just 12.7 ppg for the Suns. He was also averaging 14.5 points, which is just a shade above his career worst of 14.4 ppg as a rookie.

He just hasn’t performed to his fantasy draft level this year. That all could change with an Amar’e Stoudemire trade. The Suns would need someone to fill the scoring void, and J-Rich is a natural choice.

He’s an attractive option for fantasy teams because, aside from his scoring, he’s a good rebounder for a guard, hits a bunch of three’s and gets about a steal a night.

A player I’d try to include in the deal is Corey Brewer. He’s playing out of his mind, but could easily hit a wall considering he’s coming off a knee surgery. Plus, the way Kurt Rambis tweaks his lineup, you never know when Corey’s role will change.
