Fantasy Hoops Waiver Wire Bin Vol. 1
Rudy Fernandez - The Rookie Spaniard has not disappointed in Portland. Through eight games he’s averaging a robust 15.4 points per game in just 28.6 minutes. He’s not chipping in much in other categories (2.9 rebounds per game, 2.0 Assists per game), but his 93.3% Free Throw percentage, 2.6 three-pointers per game, and 1.25 steals per game have made him more than a one category player. He qualifies at PG & SG in Yahoo leagues.
Chris Quinn- I wasn’t expecting much from Quinn with Wade back and Michael Beasley on board, but Quinn has contributed to both Miami and to fantasy owners. He sports averages of 9.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 three-pointers per game. He’s chipping in in shooting percentages as he’s 50% from the field, 90.9% from the line, and 60% from downtown. He qualifies at PG & SG in Yahoo leagues.
Marquis Daniels - Marquis has stepped up his game this year with averages of 15.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. His points and rebounds are roughly double his career average. He’s also chipping in at the charity stripe with a 91.7% Free Throw percentage. He qualifies at both SG & SF.
Trevor Ariza - On a team full of stars, you wouldn’t expect much from the Lakers’ Ariza. He has been a key contributer though with averages of 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 2.0 steals. He’s shooting 50% from the floor and from behind the arc. He’s dreadful at the line though, shooting 59.3%. Kind of puzzling.
Spencer Hawes - Hawes has got off to a nice start averaging 12.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and .9 steals. He’s even contributed a three-pointer per game, which is sweet out of the Center position. He’s shooting well at 53.3% from the floor, 56.3% from three, and 73.3% from the line.
