Fantasy Hoops Waiver Wire Bin

Nov 6, 2007

There are always guys that are hot right out of the gate.  The question is whether they are going to keep it up or are they going to come back to Earth?  Here are some guys to grab while they are hot.

Ronnie Brewer, Utah – Ronnie has scored in double digits all season (16.3 ppg).  He hasn’t contributed many rebounds or assists, but his steals are off the charts.  Plus, he’s shooting over 60% from the field.  He also qualifies as F in many leagues.

Damien Wilkins, Seattle – Wilkins has dropped at least 20 in two of his three games this season (18.3 ppg) with 7.0 rpg and 4.0 apg.  His 86.7 FT% is real nice.  He also qualifies as F in many leagues.

Martell Webster, Portland – Martell is finally living up to the hype.  He has also reached double digits in every game thus far (16.3 ppg).  Unlike Brewer, he’s adding some boards (4.3 rbg) and three pointers (2 per game).  His FG% isn’t great ( 47.4%), but he’s money at the line (87.5%).  He also qualifies as G in many leagues.

Hedo Turkoglu, Orlando – Turkoglu has scored at least 17 in his games so far (22.0 ppg).  He’s also firing in 5.7 rpg and 4.3 apg with 2.67 threes per game and 77.8% FT%.  He also qualifies as G in many leagues.

Brendan Haywood, Washington – The key is whether or not he can stay healthy.  However, he’s been a beast on the boards (13.7 rpg).  He’s been steady with 10 points each game.  His 52.0% from the field is nice.  He needs to improve on his 44.4% from the line.  His 3 blocks per game is solid.
