The Red Sox claimed Game 3. They jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Matt Holliday and the Rockies got within one before Boston made it a 10-5 final. Jacoby Ellsbury (4 hits) and Dustin Pedroia (3 hits) led the charge. Dice-K picked up the victory. The Sox finished the sweep in Game 4. My imaginary brother Jon Lester got the win. Jonathan Papelbon got his 3rd save. Mike Lowell took home the MVP. Marcus Giles was released from San Diego. Craig Biggio went out in style winning the Roberto Clemente Award. A-Rod cho$e to re$cind hi$ contract with the Yankee$. He up$taged the World $erie$ to do $o. Hank Aaron said he stayed away from the B*nds’ home run chase because he didn’t want to talk about steroids. I understand. Joe Girardi has become the next Yankees manager. Have fun Joe. Detroit got SS Edgar Renteria from the Braves for prospects. Carlos Guillen will move to First Base. Grady Little got canned as the Dodgers manager. Joe Torre will replace him. Milwaukee did not pick up an option on Geoff Jenkins. The White Sox did the same with Darin Erstad. Curt Schilling said there are 13 teams he’d play for next year. Mike Cameron got suspended 25 games for testing positive for a banned stimulant. Joel Zumaya hurt his shoulders while moving stuff during the San Diego fires. The Orioles didn’t pick up the option on Kris Benson. Barry B*nds says he’ll boycott the Hall of Fame if they put the asterisk ball in. I say, two birds with on stone.

The Rich get richer as the Patriots activated Richard Seymour and the Poor gets poorer as the Jets lost Jonathan Vilma for the season with a knee injury. Marvin Harrison missed a game for the Colts. Old Man Vinny Testaverde got the start. The Pats ran it up against Washington 52-7. Classy. The Colts remained unbeaten as well setting up a dream matchup for ESPN. I’m sure most of you are sick of the talk already. Drew Brees is back. So are the Saints. The Chargers are also back. The Lions are 5-2. Kitna doesn’t seem so crazy now. St. Louis and Miami remain winless. Green Bay beat Denver in OT on a 82 yard TD pass from the ageless wonder Brett Favre. Washington will be without CB Carlos Rogers for the year following a knee injury. The Jets are going with Kellen Clemens at QB. Dallas locked up Tony Romo for six years. Oakland kicked Mike Williams to the curb. The Pack put DeShawn Wynn on the IR ending his rookie campaign. Jacksonville DT Marcus Str*ud tested positive for steroids. If he was an MLB player, this would be front page news. Jon Kitna dressed up as a naked guy and his wife as a fast food employee at a Halloween party. He was poking fun at Joe Cullen. Sorry, but that’s funny. Rod Smith is gone for the year with a hip injury. Hang ‘em up Rod. It was a great run. Don’t drag it out.

F Kris Draper signed a three-year extenstion with Detroit. Washington signed LW Alexander Semin to a two-year deal worthy over $9 million. Rod Brind’Amour recorded a hat trick for Carolina on Saturday against the Islanders. Atlanta’s Ilya Kovalchuk also had a hat trick. His came against Ottawa in a loss. Rick DiPietro did the same for the Islanders against Tampa Bay. The other NYC goalie, Henrik Lundqvist, shutout Washington. Nashville’s Dan Ellis shutout Vancouver. San Jose put F Ryane Clowe and D Rob Davison on the IR. RW Dustin Brown singed a six-year deal with the Kings. Calgary reached a six-year deal with Miikka Kiprusoff. Philly will be without D Derian Hatcher for a few weeks following knee surgery. Rick Tocchet got the green light to return to the NHL in February. I wonder who took that month is his pool? I’m guessing Gretzky’s wife. Detroit and Ottawa are your top teams with 23 and 20 points respectively. Detroit’s Henrik Zetterberg is your points leader with 24. Pascal Leclaire has the lowest Goals Against Average for Columbus with a 1.25 GAA.

Mike Bibby has a bad thumb that will keep him out a couple months. Denver will be without Chucky Atkins for over a month with a groin injury. To nobody’s surprise Eddie Griffin had a 0.26 blood alcohol content when we died a few months ago in a fiery crash with a train. His demons got him. The Timberwolves bought out Juwan Howard’s contract. He signed on with Dallas. The Wolves will be without Randy Foye for a month with a knee injury. Tim Duncan signed a two-year extension. Kobe dropped 45 in a season-opening loss to Houston. Sasha Pavlovic signed a three-year deal with the Cavs. He’s back. Referee Joey Crawford is back. Dallas held LeBron to ten points. Yuck. The T-Wolves signed Al Jefferson to a big extension. The Sixers couldn’t do the same with Andre Iguodala nor the Bobcats with Emeka Okafor. Rip Hamilton missed the Piston opener. T-Mac dropped 47. Kevin Durant scored 27 in his 2nd NBA game.

#1 Ohio State had no problem with #25 Penn State. #4 Arizona State beat #21 Cal. #5 Oregon dropped #12 USC. #23 UConn beat #10 South Florida. #18 Georgia handed #11 Florida their third loss of the year. Mississippi State upset #14 Kentucky. NC State upset #15 Virginia. Tennessee got by #16 South Carolina. Jamaal Charles ran for 290 yards as #19 Texas got by Nebraska. The Huskers lost QB Sam Keller for the year with a shoulder injury. Top games this weekend include #1 Ohio State vs. #21 Wisconsin, #3 LSU vs. #17 Alabama, #4 Arizona State vs. #5 Oregon, and #23 Virginia vs. #24 Wake Forest.

Georgia’s leading scorer from last year, Takais Brown, got kicked off the team. Oral Roberts suspended F Marchello Vealy for team violations. Cal will be without PG Jerome Randle for a month following a kidney biopsy. Texas G Dogus Balbay will go under the knife to fix a bum knee. Washington G Ryan Appleby fractured his thumb and will miss over a month.
