Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 9

Nov 5, 2007

Each week there are some surprising fantasy performers.  I’m going to take a look at them and see if you should go get ‘em or not.

Kellen Clemens – 226 yards passing with a TD and no INTs.  Throw in 48 rushing yards for good measure.  The Jets will likely be playing from behind, and with two solid WRs, he may be able to help you in upcoming matchups with Miami and Cleveland.
Ruling – Get ‘em.
Quinn Gray – I told you not to Sweat ‘em previously.  Sorry about that.  His 354 yards, 2 TDs, and 3 INTs.  He did play the Saints though.  I’m still not sold.
Ruling – Don’t Sweat Him (well, maybe a little).

Priest Holmes – Not sure how bad LJ’s ankle is.  However, Priest is a must grab.  If he gets meaningful carries, he could have decent value.
Ruling – Get ‘em.
Michael Robinson – Had 69 total yards filling in for Frank Gore.  Not bad.  Not great.  If Gore is expected to miss any more time, he has some value.
Ruling – Get ‘em.
Maurice Hicks – He had 49 yards and a TD against Atlanta.  Gore should be back, and Michael Robinson had the bulk of the carries.
Ruling – Don’t Sweat ‘em.

D.J. Hackett – He was one of my favorite sleepers this year.  An ankle injury ruined that prediction.  He did, however, have 58 yards and a TD last week.  Maybe, just maybe, he can salvage my good name.
Ruling – Get ‘em.
Reggie Williams – This week:  6 catches for 128 yards and a TD.  Previous six games:  12 catches for 119 yards and 3 TDs.  He’s scoring TDs, but averaging 20 yards before this week’s breakout performance.  I think it’s a fluke.
Ruling – Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Donald Lee – He’s been hot for Green Bay reaching at least 75 yards in two of his last three games.  Tight Ends are hard to come by.  Might as well add him to your arsenal.
Ruling – Get ‘em.
Robert Royal – He score this week so his fantasy points look good.  He caught only two balls though for 35 yards.  That’s the most he’s had all year.  Don’t get fooled by this one.
Ruling – Don’t Sweat ‘em.
