Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 14

Dec 8, 2008

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday.  There always are.  Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

Seneca Wallace
– Seattle would be wise to let Seneca play the season out so they see what they have in him.  He had a nice game against New England (212 yards, 3 TDs through the air, and 47 on the ground).  With Seattle facing St. Louis next week, he may be a nice start if you’re in a real bind.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Playoff Bonus:  Tarvaris Jackson (Don’t Sweat ‘em), Matt Schaub (Get ‘em), Kyle Orton (Get ‘em)

Darren Sproles
-  Sproles had a nice game (64 total yards, 2 TDs) against the Raiders, but let’s face it, we’re talking about the Raiders.  The Charger destroyed them.  Even so LT still had a heavy workload (25 carries).  Next up is the Chiefs in Kansas City.  Sproles could get some additional touches, but you can’t count on him in the fantasy playoffs.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ’em.

DeShaun Foster - It does not look good for Frank Gore owners.  He’s not Gore, but Foster is a capable back.  In deep leagues, you have to grab him.
Ruling:  Get ‘em

Tashard Choice - You probably figured a rookie RB would factor in for the Cowboys this year.  It wasn’t Felix Jones though.  With MB3 out, the 4th round back out of Georgia Tech rang up 166 yards of total offense against the Steelers.  If Barber is out again, Choice could be your choice.

Playoff Bonus:  Ahmard Hall (Don’t Sweat), Tatum Bell (Get ‘em)

Deion Branch
- He followed up a five reception performance with a pair of TDs against his former team.  I’d say he’s back.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Jordy Nelson - The fluke factor is probably higher for WRs than any other position.  One good game against a bad pass team doesn’t do it for me.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Gijon Robinson
- I like that he caught six passes, but I’m thinking the fluke factor is high on Gijon.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

There you have it.  I hope I provided you some good info while you make your fantasy team waiver wire adjustments.
