Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 5

Oct 6, 2008

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday.  There always are.  Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

QB
Kyle Orton -  He threw for 334 yards and 2 TDS.  I guess I have to start taking him seriously as he has three straight multiple TD games, with an average of 267 passing yards per game over that stretch.  I take back the things I said about him before and recommend him for your bench.
Ruling:  Get ‘em

RBs

DeAngelo Williams - If he was cut following his mediocre string of games vs. Chicago, Minnesota, and Atlanta, his previous owners are kicking themselves for missing out on his 3 TD, 148 total yard effort vs. Kansas City.  He won’t do that again, but he proved he’s still capable of being roster worthy.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Kevin Faulk – Faulk was instrumental in New England’s road victory over the 49ers with 7 carries for 32 yards and a pair of TDs.  He added 29 yards on 4 catches.  I get the feeling that the Patriot RBs will be used according to their matchups leaving none of them reliable to start on a consistent basis.  Faulk means more to the Pats than he does to fantasy teams.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ’em.

WRs
Greg Camarillo – His production has increase every week thus far, capped off by his 68 yard, TD performance vs. San Diego.  He faces a poor Houston secondary so he’s worth picking up for a week if you have the bye week blues next week.  However, he faces Baltimore and Buffalo the next two weeks so he’s not a good long-term answer.
Ruling:  Get ‘em (for next week).

Sincore Moss - Sincore caught 4 passes for 45 yards and 2 TDs.  Of course, Plaxico Burress was suspended from this game.  This feels like a one-game wonder to me.  Let somebody else chase the box score.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

TE
Tom Sati  - Yes, he scored a TD and caught four passes, but he’s just too far down the food chain in Indy’s Offense to worry about.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

There you have it.  I hope I provided you some good info while you make your fantasy team waiver wire adjustments.

I am kicking myself for going with Ryan Grant over DeAngelo Williams this week. Luckily, I still won my game but I didn’t like sweating it out last night to see what Hines Ward would do against Jacksonville.

    Good work as always Ryan.

Brad – That would have been a bold move. DeAngelo’s game was pretty unexpected.

Good call on Greg Camarillo. He is becoming more involved in the offense from week to week.
