Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 7

Oct 22, 2007

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday.  There always are.  Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worth of your fantasy rosters.

 QBs
Sage Rosenfels – Possibly.  290 yards and 4 TDs were nice.  3 INTs were not so nice.  You can’t use him next week against San Diego, but Week 9 against Oakland is a possibility.  Week 10 is Houston’s bye, but if Sage remains the QB he has a nice stretch of games against New Orleans, Cleveland, and Tennessee.
Ruling:  Wait and see.
Cleo Lemon – He ran for another score (maddening Ronnie Brown owers) and threw for 236.  However, with Miami 0-7  it’s only a matter of time until John Beck gets the call.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

RBs
Kenny Watson – 130 yards and 3 TDs.  He had almost as many points (33.7) this week as Rudi (35.7) has all season.  He’s clearly run better than Rudi, and should continue to be involved heavily.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
Jesse Chapman – 82 total yards and a score filling in for an injured Ronnie Brown (thanks for that pick Cleo).  While his value depends on the severity of Ronnie’s injury, he’s worth a spot on your roster.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
Chris Henry – 69 total yards and a score.  Nice debut, but we’ll have to see if he can repeat.  Just keep an eye on him for now unless you’re in a big league or are really hurting at RB.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em (well, maybe just a little)

WRs
Brandon Stokley – 70 yards and a TD.  With Javon Walker being out for an extended time, Stokley becomes roster worthy for the first time since 2004.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
Arnez Battle – 57 yards and a score.  It’s his 2nd straight game reaching paydirt.  If’ your limited by injuries or bye weeks, Battle may not be a bad play vs. New Orleans and Atlanta the next two weeks.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
Ike Hilliard – He has 323 yards (80.75 ypg) the past four games with a TD.  Believe it or not he’s roster worthy.  However, he plays Jacksonville next week so you probably can’t use him.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
David Anderson – He had 45 yards and a score for Houston.  With Andre Davis and Kevin Walter, not to mention Andre Johnson’s impending return, Anderson has likely made his biggest noise of the season.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em

TE
Will Heller – Scored 2 TDs.  You won’t see that again.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em

There you have it.  I hope I provided you some good info while you make your fantasy team waiver wire adjustments.

Very nicely done. Glad I can come to your website for quick fantasy football advice rather than searching for it on-line or in a magazine. Nonetheless, congrats on getting this site and good luck with it!
