Iowa High School Football Coach Shot at School

ESPN is reporting a horrific incident in which Aplington-Parkersburg High Football Coach Ed Thomas was shot and killed by Mark Becker, a former player. Becker shot Thomas in the weight room. Thankfully nobody else was injured in the attack. A motive in unclear at this point, but Becker has had run-ins with authorities as recently as this past Saturday.
Thomas was the High School Coach for NFL Players Casey Wiegmann, Jared DeVries, Brad Meester, and Aaron Kampman.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Thomas family and the Iowa community.

Sad story. Seems the long-time coach acted out his believe in helping the community, so I’m sure their hearts are low right now.
