It’s Not Just A-Rod: ManRam Busted for PED Use

May 7, 2009

The LA Times has dropped one of the biggest bombshells since, well, since A-Rod was outed for his steroid use.  Manny Ramirez has reportedly tested positive for a Performance Enhancing Drug.

This would be another black eye to a sport that has come under attack because of the tainted reputations of their best players in recent years.  Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Sammy Sosa, Alex Rodriguez, and now Manny Ramirez.

Stay tuned as this story develops.  For the full report read teh LA Times article.

Add another one who is on the Never in the HOF list. For those Sox Fans who says that the Yankees cheated to get the 1996, 1997-2000 World Series Championships, What does this mean for the 2004 and 2007 seasons.

What a mess. The whole era is tainted. This just further cements it.

When you read my blog you will see some of my thoughts,

If people are going to say The Home Run records should be stricken then It can be argued that the entire seasons should be wiped off the books too

I’d love to move past this mess, but things like this keep happening.

    Cindy,

I was thinkin the same thing. Didn’t Merrimen win Defensive Player of the Year the same year he tested positive? Stupid move by Manny, even if he does blame a prescription. I’m really scared we’re gonna hear Pujols mentioned in one of these reports

    4 games in the nfl.

    look at it like this:
    4 games NFL = 25% of season
50 games in MLB = 31% of season

    Not a huge difference.

I don’t know why the NFL gets a free pass. It just is what it is. Nobody is beyond suspicion.

I heard a rumor it’s not roids, but some medication

it is getting wild = all these good players being outed

wonder when this all will end?

I think no pay (as per a news report).

I guess the agent is saying medication … but the same news report said ManRam is waiving his right to appeal … hmmmmm …..

He doesn’t get paid. Part of the deal with the PA, any player suspended for PEDs does not gt paid during the suspension. I think he’s losing like $7.5 million. Lester, when you compare percentage of the season missed it doesn’t look as bad. Thanks brother

Ryan you are correct, The feeling is that since he is not appealing there may be much more to this story than is being reported.
As you said this has been used to cycle off of Steroids or maybe Manny is trying to become Pregnant

That is a lot of cash, I just read what I wrote. I didnt mean the cash loss was bad, I meant that the number of games suspended isnt bad compared to the NFL suspension, when you look at percentage of the season lost. If only he was forced to give his lost salary to bloggers who cover the story…sweet

At least Myers and Hartman will have something to talk about other than the Lakers.
