John Beck Released

Bill Parcels is working his magic once again.  With the selection of Pat White in last weekend’s NFL Draft, Parcels accomplished two tasks.  He added possibly the best Wildcat Quarterback that isn’t serving time on animal cruelty charges and he gained a roster spot.

Pat White is a gifted passer completing 64.8% of his passes for 6051 yards and 56 TDs with just 23 INTs.  He also ran the ball for 4480 yards and 47 TDs.  When he lines up under Center, Defenses will have to respect both his ability to throw and run the football.  Ronnie Brown was great in that role last year, but he did not offer much of a passing threat.   Baltimore made a blueprint of how to stop the Wildcat.  Miami just raised the ante.

Aside from bolstering their Wildcat formation, the Dolphins added roster flexibility.  They no longer have to carry three true QBs.  Chad Pennington will be the starter and Chad Henne will be the backup.  In addition to Wildcat QB, White will likely serve as a slot receiver as well as the third-string QB.
