John Madden Calling It Quits

Apr 16, 2009

I know this is not fantasy news, but broadcasting legend John Madden is calling it quits.  Madden is 73 years old and has been broadcasting for three decades.  For more information, check out this NBC Sports article.

I just wonder if it’s a coincidence that Brett Favre retired too.  Perhaps they are going to get in the Madden Cruiser, eat Turducken, and tour the country as the new Odd Couple.

Kidding aside, he will be missed.  Best wishes in retirement John.

Thank God! If I had to hear about a 6 legged turkey one more year, I might have…I don’t know, but it would have been pretty bad.

I hear ya. It will be weird without him though.

Yeah, he will be missed. Even though I didn’t always agree with his way of being biased towards some players and teams, he was a broadcaster for three decades. Being a successful coach and broadcaster hasn’t always worked with some that have made the transition after stepping down.

Whether anyone liked him or not, its hard to not think about top football broadcasters without his name coming up too quickly in any conversation.

    Best wishes in retirement indeed.

If I had a radio show I would be having Frank Caliendo on for an interview with “John Madden”
