Larry Fitzgerald is a Bird. On to Roy Williams?

Mar 11, 2008

He’s back!

Sorry Eagle fans, but his helmet will feature a Cardinal next year instead of the National Bird after signing a four-year, $40 deal.  Although he’d look good in green, there will be no change of scenery for the young, talented wideout.

So Fitzy is staying.  What does this mean for fantasy owners?  It means you don’t have to worry as much about his production next year.  Anytime you switch teams and offenses there will be questions.  Staying in Arizona eliminates some of those questions.  There will be some discussion as to whether Kurt Warner or Matt Leinart will be throwing him the ball, but you can pretty much pencil him in for 100 catches, 1400 yards, and 10 TDs.

No big news here.  For Cardinal fans, “no news is good news”.  For Eagles fans, “keep looking”.   Perhaps you can dangle Lito Sheppard in Detroit’s direction for Roy Williams.  I’m sure he’d LOVE a change of scenery.  Although I think Matt Millen has a thing for wide receivers.  It doesn’t hurt to hope though.

Can Roy escape the haze of Detroit?

One can dream.
