Larry Phitzgerald?

Is Larry Fitzgerald heading the the City of Brotherly Love?  Rumors persist that Fitz could be on the move.  Arizona keeps saying he’s not available for a trade.  That hasn’t stopped the speculation that Philly could acquire him.

The move does make sense for both teams if Arizona isn’t willing or able to give Fitz the contract he demands.  Reggie Brown isn’t Larry Fitzgerald, but he isn’t bad.  If you could re-sign Bryant Johnson and bring in Reggie Brown, their receiving corps is still above average.  Plus, you’d add a Pro Bowl cornerback to your defense.

The Eagles could use an upgrade at WR, and even though the bounty is high, it still makes sense.  Larry Fitzgerald is a young, talented receiver.  He has all the ability of the top tier wideouts, but doesn’t come with the headaches.  He’s just a good, hard worker.  Something that would go over a lot better in Philly than the T.O. experiment.  Losing Lito would be a blow to the defense, but the acquisition of Asante Samuel more than softens that blow.

I’m not sure if this deal will ever go down.  Sometimes when there is smoke, there is fire.  Sometimes no means no.  I think this time it’s the latter.  Sorry JP.

It doesn’t sound too good this morning. At the same time I like to have hope since they haven’t worked out a deal with him yet.

If I’m Arizona I would get this put to bed already, I wouldn’t want to give him up either.

However, you never know what will happen, after all Philly was not supposed to get T.O. This year, Philly claimed not be addressing WR but were supposedly very close to signing Moss for more money than what New England had offered.

I would hate to lose Lito, but I understand he would want a higher salary after seeing Assante get that big deal. I think that teams will buy him low since he was hurt last year. Reggie is good but I think this year he still has a lot to prove (as he had much to prove last season)

    Reading this offers little consolation.

But I still have a glimmer of hope and want to be optimistic.

You have been right at the center of this rumor storm since the beginning JP. For your sake I hope the deal gets done. I just have my doubts. Roy Williams would be a nice alternative.
