Can you Lean on Shonn Greene?

.
New York Jets running back Shonn Greene kicked the season off with 94 yards and a touchdown. The next four games he combined for 151 total yards (37.8 ypg) without a touchdown. He’s turned it around the past three games. Can you count on him down the stretch?
.
Since his forgettable Week 2-5 span Greene has averaged 118.3 total yards with four touchdowns the past three games, highlighted by a 161 yards and three TDs against the Colts in Week 6.
.
He has eight catches for 63 yards the past two games, which is important when the team is playing from behind like they have been the past two games.
.
He has taken advantage of injuries to Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight. When the team on bye, they should be back in the fold sooner than later. Still, Greene’s starting gig should be safe.
.
There were some grumblings that Powell could take over lead back duties so the injuries and Greene’s play came at a good time for his fantasy owners.
.
Nonetheless, Greene is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry. His job appears safe now, but if he stalls out in the coming weeks those grumblings could return.
.
He’ll have his work cut out for him in Week 10 as the Jets draw Seattle. They also face New England and take on San Diego’s tough run defense in Week 16.
.
The Jets do have some favorable match-ups with St. Louis, Arizona, Jacksonville, and Tennessee though.
.
He’s not as good as his four good games or as bad as his his four bad games. As long as he can hang onto the starting gig Greene will have some use in the flex position down the stretch.
