Lester’s Blue Line Specials Volume 10
We’re getting to crunch time. Teams that are out of it will likely start trying some of their younger players. You really have to pay attention if you want to close out your season on a high note. Luckily for you, I’m here to help.
Sean Avery - In his last twelve games Sean has produced 11 points (0.92 points per game) for the Rangers, including a pair of goals last night against the Islanders. In his first thirty-one games he produced just 16 points (0.52).
Scott Walker - Walker has been red hot for Carolina over his past seven games, scoring 8 points (1.14). That’s a vast improvement of the 17 points he had in his first thirty-nine games (0.44). He’s scored at least a point in four of his past five games.
Toni Lydman - I’m not going to be the one to tell him he has the feminine spelling of his name. I like my teeth just the way they are. Female names aside, this Buffalo defenseman has been getting in on the scoring action lately. In his last eight games he has 7 points (0.88). They all came on assists. In his first sixty games he had 17 points (0.28). That’s quite a leap. He had four assists against Nashville on February 27th.
Craig Anderson - Craig has won his last four games for Florida, recording two shutouts in the process. He stopped 98.1% for all shots during that stretch allowing only 0.74 goals per game. You can’t get much hotter than that. Prior to this hot steak Craig was 2-5 and stopped 90.9% of his shots on goal. His GAA for the year is 2.17.
