LestersLegends Injury Report

Aug 25, 2008

It’s time to take a look around the league and see what’s happening on the injury front.

Bernard Berrian - Berrian sat out with a toe injury.  That’s OK because starter Tarvaris Jackson also missed the game so he didn’t miss out on much.

Drew Carter - The Oakland WR will miss the season with a knee injury.  Oakland really is cursed aren’t they?

Marques Colston - Colston got an early exit because of bruised ribs.  Other than some discomfort, Colston should be fine for the opener.

Matt Hasselbeck – He will not play in tonight’s preseason game vs. San Diego because of his back.  We’ll see if he gets any work in prior to the opener.

Andre Johnson - Though he did not make a catch, AJ did make his preseason debut for the Texans, helping fantasy owners (myself included) breath a little easier.

Bryant Johnson - Johnson has yet to play in the preseason because of a hamstring injury.  He will likely be slow out of the gates, although playing his former team in Week 1 could serve as motivation.

Rudi Johnson - Forget Where’s Waldo, Where’s Rudi?  Last year he let Kenny Watson outperform him because of injury.  This year Chris Perry is taking the honors.

Maurice Jones-Drew - MJD left Jacksonville’s preseason clash with Tampa after hurting his ankle.  It doesn’t appear to be serious though, and he should be good to go in the opener.

Kyle Kosier - Kosier suffered a sprained foot that could keep him out of the first month of the season.  Why is he important?  He’s the starting RG for Dallas.  Life could be a little more difficult for Romo, MB3, and company.

Carson Palmer - Palmer had his nose broken for him.  It shouldn’t have an impact on his play.

Jonathan Stewart - I guess the toe is feeling better.  In his first preseason action J-Stew (my presason ROY) ripped off 100 yards and a TD in ten carries.

Jason Taylor - Dancing with the Stars’ Jason Taylor sprained a knee.  He could miss the opener, but I would guess he’ll be back in time.

Osi Umenyiora – Osi is out for the season following a knee injury.  Unless they can drag Michael Strahan out of retirement, I would bump NYG DEF down a few notches.  If you took Osi as a IDP, you will have to look elsewhere.
