LestersLegends Mock Draft – Round 6

Aug 11, 2008

The legendary Paul Charchian was kind enough to do a mock draft with 11 ordinary fantasy football players (myself included).  We are greatful at the opportunity to both learn from Charch as well as bragging rights with our friends because we were able to do a mock draft with a fantasy football icon.  Here are the guidelines.

Round 6
Joe – Dallas Clark

Previous Picks:  Clinton Portis, T.O., Reggie Bush, Anquan Boldin, Rudi Johnson

Captain Fantastic - Roddy White
Previous Picks:  Larry Johnson, Marshawn Lynch, Antonio Gates, Roy Williams, Ben Roethlisberger

Paul Charchian - Jonathan Stewart
Previous Picks:  Reggie Wayne, Larry Fitzgerald, Jason Witten, Brandon Jacobs, Chris Chambers

Jase -Kevin Smith
Charch took the rb i wanted if clark went, snaps.
Previous Picks:  Tom Brady, Maurice Jones-Drew, Willie Parker, Santonio Holmes, Marvin Harrison

Dan – Derek Anderson
He just makes sense here.  This pick fills out my skill position starters, and six picks will be made by guys who don’t have a QB before I pick again.
Previous Picks:  Frank Gore, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Ryan Grant, Kellen Winslow, Lee Evans

Ryan (Me) – Jerricho Cotchery
With Favre on board, I expect Cotchery to be even better than the back-to-back 82 reception seasons he’s produced.  Favre has a history of turning WRs to fantasy gold.  To me, Cotchery is that guy.
Previous Picks:  Joseph Addai, Braylon Edwards, Jamal Lewis, Carson Palmer, Brandon Marshall

Luis – Ernest Graham
Previous Picks:  Marion Barber III, Tony Romo, Wes Welker, Tony Gonzalez, Edgerrin James

Jason – Donald Driver
Uggh, To be honest, I tried something in this draft that I have always wanted to and it kind of blew up in my face.  I didnt properly equate for 12 people, which in the end helped in furthering my theory by making a mistake.  Jackson gamble was part of my theory, so I am and will be crossing my fingers on that one.  I already knew the absolute risk involved, which when I draft otherwise I am more interested in tiering, and it is normally one I would have not taken.  Nonetheless I will probably be saying hi from the cellar.
Previous Picks:  Steven Jackson, Peyton Manning, Laurence Maroney, Chris Cooley, Santana Moss

Awesome - Donovan McNabb
McNabb won’t play 16 games this season, I’m not kidding myself. But the 8-12 games he does play, he should be one of the top QBs in scoring. So I need a decent backup, and I’m probably bound for something similar to the Lienart/Warner story arc in Days of Our Lives. I wonder if Coach Denny Green could give me some advice? He should have some free time on his hands…
Previous Picks:  Randy Moss, Marques Colston, Steve Smith, Ronnie Brown, Thomas Jones

David – LenDale White
Previous Picks:  Brian Westbrook, Drew Brees, Plaxico Burress, Darren McFadden, Dwayne Bowe

Tom – Brett Favre
Previous Picks:  Adrian Peterson, Willis McGahee, Chad Johnson, Jeremy Shockey, Calvin Johnson

Jon – San Diego Defense
The selection of offensive stars are dwindling. All defenses were available. They get to tee off on the Raiders twice. Cromartie can snag picks, and return kicks.
Previous Picks:  LaDainian Tomlinson, Andre Johnson, Torry Holt, Greg Jennings, Michael Turner

Past Rounds:
Round 1
Round 2

Brazil, what’s the strategy you’re trying? And looking at you’re roster, I don’t know that I’d throw in the towel just yet. It’s not as good as my team, but, well, I’m Awesome…

    Biggest Surprise: Dallas Clark/Brett Favre
With Harrison back and all of those weapons, I’m not sure there will be enough love for Clark.
Not sure how the new situation will be for Favre. Personally, I like Hasselbeck better than Favre this year.
