Fantasy Basketball: Love Lost
The Timberwolves were dealt a major blow when PF Kevin Love suffered a broken bone in his left hand that could sideline the second-year player for two months.
Love, a gifted rebounder, will surely be missed. The Wolves don’t have anyone on their roster to fill his void. Al Jefferson, Ryan Hollins, and Ryan Gomes see a slight bump in their fantasy values.
This makes Love an interesting selection in fantasy drafts. You likely won’t get anything steady from him this calendar year. He will give you a nice boost in the second half of the year. You’ll just have to sit on him because clearly the talent is there. If you are going to take a risk on him, you probably should play it relatively safe with your earlier picks. I wouldn’t consider taking him until around the 10th round of fantasy drafts.
