Marion Barber to Miss 1-2 Weeks?
Sep 22, 2009
NBC’s Dallas Affiliate is reporting that Marion Barber III will miss this week’s game against Carolina and possibly next week’s game against Denver with a quad injury. Dallas has as much depth as anyone in the league at Running Back with Felix Jones and Tashard Choice, which softens the blow of MB3′s loss. Felix Jones looked great in the Cowboys’ loss to the Giants on Sunday Night, and makes a nice RB2/Flex option against 27th ranked run defense. Jason Witten also gets a bump in value as he could be looked to if the Cowboys struggle in the red zone without their goal line Back.

I wouldn’t. Grant has a cushy matchup.

Hey Les,
Been gone for a while but nice to comeback to Cowboys injury lol
I was considering dropping Willie Parker for Jones, with Barber down should I just go for it?
Thanks Man

Tough call. Parker isn’t anything special, but he is still the starter. Jones will probably have a better game this week, but going forward it’s a toss up. Jones does have more upside of course. It’s just a matter of getting opportunties. Don’t you have a backup D or TE or WR you can drop?

I took a chance this year and drafted no backup kicker or D. Figured I could make up the points on their bye weeks if my team was strong enough. I’ll probably let Parker go and play Jones for a few weeks, I doubt anyone will pick him up if I need him back. Thanks Les

Gotcha. Barber may play this week now it sounds so hopefully you have another option. Felix should get plenty of work regardless. Sounds like Mendenhall will get more work as the season goes on since Willie may not be back next year.
