Miami Hits Home Run

Apr 26, 2008

It didn’t take long for Bill Parcels to show he still has it.  What a great first day draft for Bill Parcels.  He started off grabbing monster Left Tackle Jake Long.  In the trenches are where games are won, and a potential franchise Left Tackle is the perfect position to start the rebuilding process with.  Next up was Phillip Merling out of Clemson.  He was projected as a mid-first round pick, but slid because of concerns about a sports hernia injury. The Tuna recongnized the talent that essentially fell into his lap.  Improving his fronts on both sides of the ball with his first two picks was an excellent strategy.  The Dolphins continued to impress by grabbing Michigan QB Chad Henne.  He brings leadership and ability to a position of need for the Dolphins.  Obviously their QB situation was a mess last year, and even though Henne may not start right away, he is certainly the QB of the future.  Well played Tuna.  Well played.

As a Jet fan the Dolphins are the #1 enemy to me. But I do respect parcells alot. he has turned around every team he has been part of.
The Dolphins should win about 4-7 games in 2008. Them 8-10 games in 2009 and in 2010 I would say 10 to 13 games and a serious contender.
