Orlando Adds Some Vinsanity

Jun 25, 2009

The Orlando Magic didn’t take Cleveland’s Shaq acquisition lying down as they made a big splash of their own by landing Vince Carter from the New Jersey Nets.  ESPN is reporting that the Nets sent Carter and Ryan Anderson to the Magic for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie, and Courtney Lee.

This marks yet another salary dump, which has been commonplace this week.  Milwaukee dumped Richard Jefferson and Phoenix dumped Shaq.  Clearly the economic climate is playing a major role in teams’ decision making.

Vince Carter’s fantasy value takes a  hit as he’ll have to share with Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson, and possibly Hedo Turkoglu.  Courtney Lee appears to be the biggest gainer in fantasy value.

I do not like this at all as a Orlando Fan. This means Turko;ou will not be back and Carter is not a team guy,
Orlando’s Window is shut and You can bet D Howard will be in either L.A or New york in a few years

Obviously I heard about it. It’s not sports related so I’ll leave that to entertainment blogs. I’m more saddened by Farrah’s passed.

I like the move for Orlando, they can still sign Hedo and play Lewis at the 4. There aren’t amny teams that can pay Hedo the money he wants so I think he’ll come back to Orlando. This gives Orlando even more offense and another shooter. I do like Courtney Lee though, young and athletic slasher, so they lose a little youth but this is still a good move in my opinion.

If they bring back Hedo then it is a great move, But I hear reports down here that they do not think he will settle for anything less than a max contract from Orlando.

After his playoff run, I’m sure his agent is pushing that thought in his head. If the Magic bring him back still, great move. If he wasn’t coming back no matter what, good move. If they could have brought him back had they not brought VC in, not so great move.
