Super Bowl Fantasy Football Faceoff – Me vs. JP
I don’t know about you, but I still have the fantasy football itch. To scratch that itch I’ve decided to challenge my best friend to a playoff fantasy football battle. The sweet part about this is not only is it fantasy football, which I love, but it involved a fantasy football draft, which I also love.
Lester over JP 75.1 – 44.05
The lineups consist of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, and a TE. I’ve always wanted to be in a league that doesn’t feature kickers, so this is my taste of that. Wanting to keep it simple, I ditched DSTs as well. After drafting the team, I noticed there was a flaw. I really should have expanded to include three or four bench spots because once you fill your quarterback spot, for example, your opponent doesn’t have to draft one until the final round. I intend to bring this back next year so I’ll make offseason adjustments.
The scoring is simple:
.05 points per passing yard
.1 points per rushing yard/receiving yard
4 points for a passing TD
6 points for a rushing/receivign TD
-2 for INTs or Fumbles
I went with a snake draft format. Since JP is the guest, I let him decide if he wanted to pick first or second. He chose second this time. With my me first pick I went with Tom Brady. He followed with Laurence Maroney and Brandon Jacobs, which put me in a bind at RB. I countered with Plaxico Burress and Wes Welker . He turned to Rnady Moss and Ben Watson. Very wise choice by JP, in my opinion, because he got the better Tight End. I countered with Amani Toomer and Ahmad Bradshaw. JP turned to Eli Manning and Jabar Gaffney. I rounded out my team with Kevin Faulk and Kevin Boss. JP closed out his team with Donte Stallworth.
I think JP will take this battle. What are your thoughts?
