Playoff Fantasy Football Faceoff – Me vs. JP
I don’t know about you, but I still have the fantasy football itch. To scratch that itch I’ve decided to challenge my best friend to a playoff fantasy football battle. The sweet part about this is not only is it fantasy football, which I love, but it involved a fantasy football draft, which I also love.
The lineups consist of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, and a TE. I’ve always wanted to be in a league that doesn’t feature kickers, so this is my taste of that. Wanting to keep it simple, I ditched DSTs as well. After drafting the team, I noticed there was a flaw. I really should have expanded to include three or four bench spots because once you fill your quarterback spot, for example, your opponent doesn’t have to draft one until the final round. I intend to bring this back next year so I’ll make offseason adjustments.
The scoring is simple:
.05 points per passing yard
.1 points per rushing yard/receiving yard
4 points for a passing TD
6 points for a rushing/receivign TD
-2 for INTs or Fumbles
I went with a snake draft format. Since JP is the guest, I let him decide if he wanted to pick first or second. He chose first and went with Tom Brady. I followed up with Randy Moss and Laurence Maroney. He countered with Ryan Grant and Greg Jennings. I turned to Wes Welker and gambled on LT. He countered with Ben Watson and Vincent Jackson. I went Plaxico Burress and Brett Favre. He rounded out his team with Brandon Jacobs and Amani Toomer. I closed with Donald Lee.
I’ll report back next week to let you know who won the battle.
