Jeremy Guthrie vs. Minnesota Twins
Guthrie gave up six runs on ten hits over five innings his last time out (@ Cleveland). He had to deal with a rain delay, which could have affected his preparation. He has been rock solid in his other two starts though, allowing just one run in 14 innings. He had success against the Twins last year, winning both of his starts while posting a 3.29 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP, a .216 BAA, and 11 strikeouts in 13-2/3 innings. Plus, the Twins have struggled offensively. I’ve either picked the best pitcher of the night or the worst it seems. Unfortunately lately it’s been more of the latter.
