Rotoprofessor’s Call-Up Central: Gonzalez, Todd

Another day, a few more call-ups. This is probably something we should get used to for a few days:
- According to the Denver Post (click here for the article), the Rockies have recalled OF Carlos Gonzalez, sending Matt Murton to Triple-A. Gonzalez was acquired as part of the package that sent Matt Holliday to Oakland and has posted a line of .339 with 10 HR, 59 RBI, 43 R and 6 SB. Over his last ten games he had been even better, at .357 with 5 HR, 15 RBI and 13 R. Manager Jim Tracy was quoted as saying, “We are not bringing him in to be a part-time player, I can tell you that. And we’ll leave it at that”. He hit .242 in 302 AB last season in Oakland after he had been acquired in the offseason as part of the Dan Haren trade. He has long been considered a top prospect and 23-years old, now may be his time to shine. In five outfielder formats I would definitely take the flier on him in you are in need of a player.
- The Cardinals recalled Jess Todd, designating Blaine Boyer for assignment. Todd is going to be working in middle relief, after acting as the closer at Triple-A where he went 3-1 with 11 saves, a 2.96 ERA and 32 K in 24.1 innings. If you are in a league that values middle relievers, he is certainly worth targeting.
What do you think of these players? Which are worth owning?
